Investing.com – France stocks were mixed after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the , and sectors led shares higher while losses in the , and sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Paris, the rose 0.84% to hit a new all time high, while the index fell 0.15%.
The best performers of the session on the were Renault SA (EPA:), which rose 4.45% or 1.77 points to trade at 41.46 at the close. Meanwhile, Alstom SA (EPA:) added 3.67% or 0.43 points to end at 12.16 and ArcelorMittal SA (AS:) was up 3.27% or 0.78 points to 24.67 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield SE (EPA:), which fell 1.92% or 1.38 points to trade at 70.68 at the close. Veolia Environnement VE SA (EPA:) declined 1.89% or 0.55 points to end at 28.60 and Orange SA (EPA:) was down 1.45% or 0.15 points to 10.44.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Atos SE (EPA:) which rose 6.15% to 2.23, Solvay SA (EBR:) which was up 4.77% to settle at 25.25 and Renault SA (EPA:) which gained 4.45% to close at 41.46.
The worst performers were Nexity (EPA:) which was down 5.97% to 8.90 in late trade, Voltalia SA (EPA:) which lost 4.46% to settle at 6.21 and Covivio SA (EPA:) which was down 3.04% to 42.78 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 276 to 253 and 82 ended unchanged.
Shares in Renault SA (EPA:) rose to 52-week highs; up 4.45% or 1.77 to 41.46. Shares in Nexity (EPA:) fell to 5-year lows; down 5.97% or 0.56 to 8.90. Shares in Voltalia SA (EPA:) fell to 5-year lows; falling 4.46% or 0.29 to 6.21. Shares in Renault SA (EPA:) rose to 52-week highs; gaining 4.45% or 1.77 to 41.46.
The , which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
Gold Futures for April delivery was down 0.89% or 19.55 to $2,169.05 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in April rose 0.31% or 0.24 to hit $78.17 a barrel, while the May Brent oil contract rose 0.29% or 0.24 to trade at $82.45 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.09% to 1.09, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.21% to 0.85.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.16% at 102.63.
