TORONTO, Feb. 21 (Xinhua) — Canadian main stock market closed lower on Thursday after several days of strong gains.

The Toronto Stock Exchange’s benchmark Standard & Poor’s/TSX Composite Index was down 30.38 points, or 0.19 percent, close the day 16,000.86 points.

Among the gold group, Iamgold lost 27 cents to 4.67 Canadian dollars while Hudbay Minerals dropped lost 25 cents to 8.30 Canadian dollars.

In the energy sector, Suncor declined 19 cents to 45.05 Canadian dollars while Canadian Natural Resources fell 37 cents to 36.90 Canadian dollars.

In the material sector, Agnico Eagle Mines fell 60 cents to 57.04 Canadian dollars.

Rogers rose 43 cents to 73.07 Canadian dollars.
